ANYMA presents AEDEN at the Domain will host a free and confidential drug checking service on site, run by NSW Health with NUAA. Qualified forensic chemists analyse the contents of drugs and provide harm reduction advice to help people make safer, more informed choices. Please note that drugs and illicit substances are prohibited at this event. If these items are found during security searches, they will be confiscated and not returned.
Who can use it?
Anyone 18 and over. It's free, and you don't need to give your name.
How does it work?
A NUAA peer worker walks you through the process, and you agree to a waiver about the limits of testing. Your sample is weighed, photographed and checked on site by an NSW Health scientist. You then get your results and a chat about what they mean and how to look after yourself.
Will I get in trouble for using it?
No. People do not get into trouble for using the drug checking service. Police and sniffer dogs may be at the gates and around the event, but they don't routinely patrol near the medical precinct. If you'd rather not use the service, amnesty bins are there too.
Is it private?
Yes. The info you give isn't linked to who you are. Phones go away while you're in there, so no photos, videos or recordings.
Does a result mean it's safe?
No. Checking can't give you certainty about everything in a substance, and some less common ingredients can do harm in very small amounts. Drugs also affect everyone differently. The only way to be fully safe is not to take it.
How can I ensure that I'm partying safely at the event?
Start low, go slow, drink water, stay close to your mates and get help early if something feels off. Crowdcare and medical are here to help, not to get you in trouble.
